Screening of the Greenway Film

Two years ago, I was part of an interview about the extraordinary effort of residents, volunteers, more than 15 non-profits and the City of Richmond in turning what was known as an “abandoned and dangerous railroad line is now a beautiful stretch of walking path decorated on each side with gardens, murals, and parks.” I was asked to talk about the period of time including the building of Unity Park and about the murals I completed and learned later that the interview would be featured in a film.

In Greenway, a film by Jed Lee, “current Richmond community leaders about how this transformation was 100% fought for and by the community.” Jed Lee is a Taiwanese and Chinese-Filipino American activist, artist, and filmmaker from the Bay Area in California. Greenway premiered in June 2022, but recently won “Best Documentary” at the Our Heritage, Our Planet Film Festival, and “Best Film for Environmental Activism” at the International Social Change Film Festival.

It will be screened on Friday, July 27 at the Richmond Auditorium. Don’t miss it!
