What Students Are Saying

“I have enjoyed Rebeca’s plein air painting classes in the last few years. I appreciate her support and objective feedback about my artwork. I’ve painted plein air scenes in watercolor, oil and acrylic, and I like the challenge and variety that Rebeca’s instruction offers. She is an accomplished artist and generously shares her knowledge and experience with us.”

— A. B.

“Have never done plein aire oil painting and really learned a lot. I thought the critiques were very helpful as well as the demos and discussions. Never been to any of the places we went. I plan to continue with her classes and painting outdoors due to this experience.

— J. S.

What Students Are Saying

“I have been "majoring" in Rebeca. Starting with a drawing class, I moved on to instruction in mixing color, then in using acrylic paints for beginners. Next I took two of her marvelous plein air painting classes. For every class, Rebeca supplied lots of helpful resources. Her instruction was always clear and supportive, and the other students were fun to be around. And she is unfailingly well organized! Thanks to Rebeca, I have realized a dream of returning to doing art and am enjoying it immensely!

— J. D.

“I recently experienced Rebeca's color class. The very carefully organized and presented information was skillfully delivered to us at a time for me in my painting experience when it was really needed. Rebeca's teaching approach is equally skillful. She is tuned into each student and seeks to help them find their way towards a personal art statement. I love her breath of art history knowledge and how she brings it into each lesson. And most especially the use of homework to help carry over a regular practice of painting into my own life. Her studio is cozy and bright and was an inspiration for me to design my own. I look forward to taking more classes with Rebeca. Easy parking and beautiful location in the Richmond hills." S. C., a Choosing and Mixing Color student.Rebeca’s plein-air class was outstanding. My work has already improved thanks to the techniques she shared with us and her thoughtful comments on my painting. ”
